Goals and Values

How satisfied are you with your life at the moment?

We love to sit in our comfort zone, and tend to believe that what we have is supposed be the way it is.

Well I have breaking news for you today. That is a load of rubbish.

The world is always your oyster - you can achieve anything you desire to achieve.

The only thing that will be getting in the way is you. Well to be more accurate with that it is the way you think that is getting in the way.

And there are many ways to start realising this, the first is to look at what you have achieved in your life so far and ask yourself the question above "How satisfied am I with my life".

The first two answer that will come up and probably before you have even finished asking the question is "yes I am satisfied with my life" or "no I hate my life"

Either way there you can still achieve more in a much more profound way. Think for a moment about your dreams - everyone has at least one dream.

For some this is so deeply buried under the rubbish which the ego has dumped on you, that you are no longer able to think of a dream.

Well again folks I have headline news for you - If you cannot remember your dream then make some more dreams up.

Do yourself a dream board - that can be as simple as getting a piece of paper and sticking pictures and words onto it that match your dreams - at first you may wish to start with little dreams and as you improve on your skills at achieving reaching those dreams you will move and grow as will your dream board.

This is a fantastic way to write or draw or build a dream board to see what your goals are, once you have a visual aspect of your dream you are much more likely to achieve it.

Then map out (like you would if you were going to go on a journey in the car to another country or city) the steps required in order for you to achieve reaching that goal.

Think about what values you have regarding this goal. If you have none then make some, and start the sentance with "My value is ........"

Then every day check to see if you are on track with your final destination. If not then correct it - this is similar to going in the car to wales and when you get to a certain part in the journey there are roadworks and diversions that have been set up - well don't panic just follow the diversion. Enjoy the journey.

In life you will also be shown the diversion route if you listen to your inner sat nav system. The part of you that always knows the truth - but which is rarely listened to.

Now that you have got past the diversion, you are so close to your final destination you can feel the excitment and you have so enjoyed the journey. Setting future goals will no longer be an issue because you enjoyed the whole process of this one.

Finally your destination - it feels so wonderful that you achieved this for yourself. All that it took was a little planning, heaps of enjoyment and trust.

Well done you have reached your destination. Congratulations.

What do I need to do to hear my guidance more clearly?

This is a question which I am asked on a regular basis, so I would like to say thankyou to those people who have prompted me to write the information here for you all.

The question is referring to hearing from an aspect of their self which is most of the time dormant. (Due to their own personal choice).

This aspect of inner guidance is often drowned out by the ego aspect of self, which has been trained by the individual to shout the loudest, and get heard despite what other aspects there may be.

The art to hearing your spirit guide or inner guidance or godself (call it what you like - it's name is irrelevant) is to move into the part of your self which is calm, quiet and serene. I will explain later the many ways this can be achieved.

There will be reasons that your ego self will not allow the mind to quiet enough in order to reach this quiet serene place, and that is because it feels threatened that it will then no longer be heard.

So it may take continued dedication and belief that you can achieve reaching this quiet serene place within.

The more that you fight with the internal battle from the ego self the stronger it becomes and the further away from the quiet serene self you become, eventually you will give up and the ego then with a big sigh of relief stops the internal battle.

Now this aspect of self may have won the battle but it most definately has not won the "war" as the saying goes.

So to reach the inner peace and tranquility of self - there are many options available to you. One of them is a form of meditation - this can be a creative visualisation from a CD or tape or someone else guiding you in a meditation class or group, it can be listening to gentle soft music, which allows your mind and self to become quiet and to enhance this use rythmic breathing to assist the body to relax.

There are many explanations on the net to explain how to achieve getting a stronger link to your guides etc. But for me this method has worked for the past 15 years and so I continue to use it for myself and with others.

Sit quietly, where you will not be disturbed, (could be a room, a woodland clearing, a quiet park or garden or even a nice magical cavern in the hills).

Ensure that you have no phones on and the room or space and that you are safe, warm and comfortable.

Sit on a comfortable chair or bench with both feet firmly on the floor. (do not lie on a bed or floor as you will fall asleep).

Then close your eyes and breathe deeply and slowly in through the nose and out through the mouth. Follow the oxygen with your mind, so that you stay focused in just this area.

This is step one, and for some people it works for them to do just this bit until they have "mastered" becoming calm.

Step two, ensure that you are grounded and protected - to achieve this imagine or ask in your mind or out loud for Mother Earth to keep you grounded to her soul through your feet. (again there are many versions for grounding). Then ask to be protected with spiritual light.

When you begin this you may not be able to experience any sensation or feeling but after your perception and awareness shift you will be able to experience and or feel the energies which pass through the body.

Step three, just ask in your mind or out loud for the connection to your soul (this can be called whatever suits you - goddess self, god, Buddha, spirit guide).

And wait in the silence - this is where patience is required, and focus on the breath is important as your ego aspect of self will make strong attempts to distract you. Just focus on the breathe every time this happens.

The more practise you do with this the stronger the link to your quiet self. This practise also develops your awareness and perception. Increasing the levels of relaxation of body and mind.

So sit back, and enjoy. Many people do find it easier in the early days to sit in a group to achieve this.

How to get past the ego

Well now there is a question and a half, but this is a question so many of us wonder and think about or struggle with on a day to day basis.

Ever had the internal conversation or battle going on. Well hello this is an aspect of yourself called the ego.

Oh and until recently like many others, I hated it, I even sacked it and gave it a P45 in a visualisation I did. All this because I was getting negative results appearing in my life - now this is not good for a life coach.

Positive there is that a life coach will and should always put into practice what they preach. And so I did and now the results are that I have a really good working relationship with this aspect of myself.

No more internal battles, just nice positive conversations (this is not an advert to say that I have lost the plot nor is it a request for a white jacket!!)

It works for me, and as a coach one of my mottos is if it works does then use it. If it doesn't then find another way.

One thing is for sure never oh never give up.

So for today I went about my business the same as always - on awakening I give thanks for the day which I have once again been blessed with.

Then I do my affirmations and visualisations before I even put my feet on the ground, then I light a couple of incense sticks to bless the environement, then do the usual bathroom bits, and breakfast bits and off to work.

Feeling really positive and set up for the day.

This has proven really effective over the years, and now very little is able to distract me into a frenzy of stress.

Stress being just a teaspoon of chemical that runs havoc around the body to which the organs and muscles etc respond, and mostly in a negative way.

It's just a word, and has no power only that which you give to it.

Oh a little "chemical" is required in order to survive, but I totally disagree with those who say that stress helps them to be positive and drives them throughout the day.

Well to say that I disagree is not actually correct, yes I would agree that the above is possible short term and can feel good for short spurts at a time, but ask yourself this what are the long term effects of this chemical on your wellbeing?

Well it is not rocket science, and the fact that the body can only sustain this type of pressure for a limited amount of time before it short circuits.

But hey it is totally the responsibility of each individual to decide how much they require there physical body to live here in the earth plane.

For any soul requires a body in order to exist and therefore without this body you will have nowhere to live - think about that and then take the necessary steps to make adjustments to reduce your stress levels.

Well now that I have gone off on a total tangent, but have I? Mmmm maybe that is exactly what was supposed to happen.

So back to my day, once again it has been really positive and enlightening. I have been able to assist someone other than myself in finding their way.

This is my main passion in life - helping others, especially those who feel they are lost.

I love life, just thought I would share that with you.

So my day has consisted of assisting another person with getting past or getting into a better position with how to communicate and best utilise their ego.

I have uncovered so many new techniques recently with regards to working positively with the ego. I am blown away - what a wonderful feeling.

I am pleased with the outcomes which I personally have experienced, and am very pleased to see how it is able to benefit others.

Life is wonderful.

So my comments today are: Believe in your self, in the power you have to control your own life day by day, minute by minute. Believe in your inner strength that resides deep inside you, and trust that your faith will be your sat nav. Believe in tommorow and what it will bring, let your heart show you the way. For everything will work out if you trust and believe. There is no limit to what you can do, only negative thoughts can stop you experiencing it.

Positive thoughts

I have to say that my brain has never been so active as of late. What with getting positive thoughts programmed in over the negative ones which no longer serve me as a person, and getting my head around how to get the web page into a better ranking, as well as teaching myself about adword and adsense.



The whole week has been completely absorbed into these areas, last week I noticed that I had not even unlocked the front door for two days, as I was so engrossed with my huge learning curve going out did not even come into the equation.



Programming positive thoughts has always been a huge part of my every day existence, but when there is an internal block going on it can take you away from everything else that is going on around you, I am very fortunate to be able to have the freedom and time to be able to work through these issues as and when they appear.



This however is not the same for everyone, when I am life coaching others then the time frame can be very limited and then in terms of there input time can be the huge difference as to how quickly any one person is likely to see any positive improvement.



As this is my very first blog I was a little apprehensive, but once again stepped out of the comfort zone and took massive action and hey well here I am.



I am still breathing, so that must be okay!!



I write a journal every day regarding my life and experiences good or bad (not that I believe there is such a thing). So blogging should be easy for me and hopefully get more and more interesting for readers as I progress to understand how it all works out there.



So as I have an awful lot to write about and can always find something interesting, I shall be patient to see what response if any I get from this blog.



Future blogs will be topics on my passion which is my work - life coaching and spiritualism, maybe my hobbies, but whichever way they will all definately link to positive thoughts etc. If there is a negative happening I will go out of my way to find the positive aspect. That is my job and my passion.
